About the main author of this website:

I am Eugen Pinak from Kyiv, Ukraine.

Though not a professional historian, I'm interested in military history since childhood. For now, my historical research is mostly concentrated on the Imperial Japanese military and militaries of the Twentieth-century Ukraine.

For many years I've published my research mostly in Ukrainian and Russian (you can see the list of my publications below), but if you really want to have a broad auditory for such specific topic, as Japanese military, you have to write in English.

This website has no particular research specialization, though for now I’m concentrating on the organization of the IJA and the IJN, especially their air forces. Also, I’ll port translations of interesting Japanese information and original documents about Japanese military in English.

Note, that big research topics like lists of air units are works in progress to be updated when I’ll find new information. There is still a lot to learn for me about this topic. But I hope even those drafts will be useful to other researchers of the Japanese aviation.

I'll be grateful for any additions, corrections or comments.
