Prices of some weapons and equipment of the IJA in December 1941

Even though IJA wepons costed less, than IJN warships, they were needed in large numbers. That's why the price per item was very important. From the price list in 1941 once can see, why there was so few pistols issued to the troops: they've costed almost as infantry rifle.

Before the Pacific War average exchange rate of Japanese Yen to US Dollar was 3,6 yen to 1 dollar. 

Rough value of the yen before the Pacific War to 21-century yen is 1 to 800.
